T’Gaal Multisharpener
BD1.500
The T’Gaal is named after togaru (尖る) — Japanese for ‘to taper to a point’. A classic since 1993, the T’Gaal allows the user to select the optimal angle of the core tip by using the dial. Use a low number for soft leads or colored pencils and a high number for hard leads that you’d like to sharpen to a long point. Contoured body for comfortable use; shutter to prevent escaped shavings.
Named for the Japanese word togaru (尖る, ‘to taper to a point’), the T’Gaal allows you to select the angle of sharpening by turning the dial. Use low grades for colouring pencils and soft leads and high grades to produce a long and narrow tip. Fits nicely into the palm, makes a satisfyingly soft haptic bump as you turn the dial, and contains a shutter so that your pencil shavings don’t run amok on the floor of your backpack. We can confirm that the T’Gaal has led numerous anti-analogue customers to reintroduce at least one pencil into their lives.
We have to use the supplier’s name for the product, but informally we call it the Wild Wheel, and nobody who has seen it at work has been able to resist its peculiar allure.
