FAQ

When first floating the idea of a concept store with a focus on stationery to my Saudi Arabian friend Z, he countered that the idea might be more successful in Riyadh than in ‘our tiny east’, referring, from his perspective, to Ash-Sharqiyah and Bahrain. I replied that while Riyadh was brimming with such stores already, we were quite short on beautiful and high-quality stationery here in Bahrain and, being Bahraini, wanted to supply the rest of my country with these provisions.

We ship to all countries in the GCC, but our core customer base is located in Bahrain and eastern Saudi Arabia — which we otherwise affectionately refer to as the ‘tiny east’.

There is a flat-rate delivery charge of 2 BD within Bahrain, which is automatically added at checkout. Shipping outside Bahrain is also automatically calculated at checkout.

Not yet, but we’re working on this and hope to make it possible as soon as possible.

Not yet, but we’re also working on this. Please contact us using the form on the ‘Contact’ page for all enquiries – we promise to get back to you very quickly.

No. Right now Tiny East is online-only.

Yes, we ship all over the GCC and worldwide.

We’re working on enabling restock email notifications, but until then please contact us at sawsan@tinyeast.com for all stock enquiries.

Not yet. Because we’ve just opened we haven’t yet activated all technical features; soon we will be adding a gift option at checkout for those who’d like gift-wrapped and receipt-free deliveries.

Tiny East is in its soft launch stage and we’re working on adding all goods to the remaining subsections by late December 2024.

If there’s a brand you’d like to see represented feel free to let us know. The products at Tiny East have been meticulously curated and sought out from far-flung corners of Europe, East Asia and the United States, but if a brand lines up with our aesthetic concept we’ll definitely see what we can do!

Generally speaking, yes. It is eco-friendlier to use a digital calendar than a paper one and to take notes on your iPad rather than a paper notepad.

Aware that environmentally disadvantageous consumption will continue in one sphere or another, though, we focus instead on minimising it: instead of no goods we’re advocating for sustainably produced goods made largely of sustainable materials. Where applicable we choose goods that will last a very long time to reduce the need for duplicates or replacements. We are currently exploring how we might integrate zero-waste solutions into our product range.

Finally, we’re for transparency and self-awareness, not greenwashing, so if you have any comments or suggestions as to how we might improve on this front, please don’t hesitate to contact us using the form; we’re all ears!
